The Department of Agriculture (DA) Region IV CALABARZON delegates, led by Chief Administrative Officer Felix I. Ramos, supported the culminating activity for this year’s World Food Day (WFD) celebration held at the Liwasang Aurora, Quezon Memorial Circle, Quezon City on October 16, 2018.
With the theme, “Our Actions are our Future. A #ZeroHungerWorldby2030isPossible.” the WFD focuses on the importance of working together to ensure that everyone in the world has access to safe, healthy, and nutritious food.
DA Secretary Emmanuel “Manny” F. Piñol, in his message, particularly emphasized that the government must prepare a well-planned food security program to protect Filipinos from hunger.
“We believe that hunger can be easily solved. With the help of everyone and the commitment of DA, ending it is a done deal,” he added.
Before the closing ceremonies, a candle-lighting was held where employees of the DA family, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and other government agencies did the WFD pledge which states their commitment in taking part on different projects and efforts towards the fulfillment of “#ZeroHungerWorldby2030isPossible.”
